Extracting the user information from vbulletin

Now that I have the site and forum integrated I will be setting about creating some modules/plugins/snippits whatever they are called and to do this I will need some of the user info from vbulletin but as far as I can make out the modx login does not contain a link to the vbulletin userid.

Is the anyway I can get this from the cookie.

Yes, you can work with any vBulletin data by declaring

global $vbulletin;

After it you can access user info with $vbulletin->userinfo structure.
